Bellingham Maker Faire
October 9, 2021 @ 10:00 am - 5:00 pm PDT
The Makers Making Change chapter in Bellingham, Washington, the Bellingham Makerspace, is hosting a Maker Faire Saturday, October 9th.
What is Maker Faire?
Maker Faire is a gathering of fascinating, curious people who enjoy learning and who love sharing what they can do. From engineers to artists to scientists to crafters, Maker Faire is a venue for these “makers” to show hobbies, experiments, projects.
We call it the Greatest Show (& Tell) on Earth – a family-friendly showcase of invention, creativity, and resourcefulness. It’s a place where people show what they are making and what they are learning. Makers range from tech enthusiasts to crafters to homesteaders to scientist to garage tinkerers. They are of all ages and backgrounds. The aim of the Maker Faire is to entertain, inform, connect, and grow this community.
The original Maker Faire event was held in San Mateo, CA and in 2019 celebrated in its 14th annual show with some 900+ makers and 90,000 people in attendance. World Maker Faire New York, the other flagship event grew over five years to 750+ makers and 80,000 attendees. Annually, many large scale Maker Faires occur in cities around the world – Orlando, Milwaukee, Vienna, Paris, Rome, Tokoyo, and Shenzhen to name a few – alongside a wide variety of independently organized Community Maker Faires.
This year the Bellingham Makerspace and MAKE are teaming up to bring the Maker Faire Bellingham back to the North West. Join us October 9th! Glimpse the future and get inspired!
