Hacking for the Holidays: Toy Adapting for New Brunswick

December 2, 2022 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm AST

Join Neil Squire’s Makers Making Change program as we will be hosting an event to adapt toys for children with disabilities!

We are excited to be partnering with the New Brunswick Premier’s Council on Disabilities to host this exciting event in recognition of International Day for Persons with Disabilities. The International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD) is annually observed on 3 December to promote the full and equal participation of persons with disabilities and to take action for the inclusion of persons with disabilities in all aspects of society and development.

Participants attending the event will be provided with tools and instructions and guided in adapting toys to be compatible with assistive switches to allow children of all abilities to play and interact with toys. All skill levels are welcome, and every toy and device will be given to a child with a disability as part of our Hacking for the Holidays campaign.

While not necessary to participate or receive a toy, donations to our Hacking for the Holidays campaign are appreciated and can be made here
