NYC Chapter: Arcade Switch Hackathon
March 25 @ 11:00 am - 4:00 pm EDT
Our New York City Chapter is hosting this exciting workshop!
Do you love video games? Are you interested in learning how to make a video game? Know how already? Do you want to learn how to make them more accessible?
During this one-day hackathon, we will be using the block-based coding environment, Makecode Arcade, in order to create a wide repository of video games that are accessible to players with motor disabilities using only one or two switches. We will walk participants through the Makecode environment and the why and how of creating these games.
This event aims to bridge a gap in play between switch-adapted toys and the more complex gaming environments like PlayStation and Xbox. All skill levels are welcome!
