OTech 3D Printing Workshop
April 8, 2021 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm EDT
Originating at University of Toronto OTech is a student group with a passion for exploring the intersection of healthcare and technology. The group aims to encourage occupational therapy students to actively engage with rehabilitation technology through discussions and workshops. Our mission is to prepare future OTs to be knowledgeable about the world of rehabilitation technology and active contributors to the dialogue in this technological revolution. OTech strives to build meaningful connections with professions in the field of rehabilitation technology, both within and outside of healthcare.
Makers Making Change are pleased to partner with OTech to deliver a workshop about OpenAT – Open-Source Assistive Technology.
Learn how OpenAT can yield customized, affordable solutions for people with disabilities and how it differs from commercial assistive technology.
Participants will get an overview of how OpenAT is designed, customized, and built and will get a more detailed look at some of the tools used to create OpenAT including 3D printers.
See a live demo of a device being modelled and then 3D printed and get plenty of resources to continue learning.
