This should be very doable, as I’m aware of at least a few similar existing projects. It would be helpful to know a bit more about what your dad is still able to do.

For example, CanAssist has developed a foot-operated guitar strummer: https://www.canassist.ca/EN/main/programs/our-technologies/current-technologies/72729.html (I’m not sure how they handle tech requests, but might be worth asking directly. Otherwise, that design could probably be used as inspiration for a similar solution)

Stan Cassidy has also worked on something similar.
