    There is a ton of interesting and clever techniques being used to design and optimize 3D printable devices for the pandemic. The purpose of this thread is to capture some of those techniques that could be used to improve the design or function of 3D printed assisted technology.

    ## Stacking Prints
    One of the techniques that I was unaware of until all this started was stacking prints. This is a technique that involves stacking prints vertically so that more parts can be produced during a single print operation (or requiring less operator intervention). The rule of thumb in the following video was using a gap of 2 layer heights between parts. The shape of the design is important as well.

    ## Automated Print Removal
    This is another technique for producing more parts with less operator intervention. This one is a little more complicated, and requires custom G-code and possibly some extra parts on the printer. The idea here is to use the print head to push the part off once it has finished printing, before starting another print.

    ## Post-print Molding / Fitting
    A heat source such as hot water, hair dryer, or heat gun can be used to adjust the shape of a thin 3D print. This can help provide a custom fit for a user, or otherwise make a shape that may be difficult to print (e.g. take a long time, require lots of support material)
