This project is a toy that plays music when it is picked up and stops playing music when it is put down.

This project was requested specifically by an Occupational Therapist in the Vancouver BC area, for a young student they are working with who has global developmental delay and autism. The student is just starting to use their hands with purpose and a major goal of the toy is to encourage the use of their hands, and learn cause and effect.

A prototype was designed using an Arduino Nano to control a DFPlayer Mini MP3 player that is housed in a 3D printed enclosure

I don’t know enough about occupational therapy and assistive tech, but I believe something like this could be a really interesting talking tool- https://www.instructables.com/Makey-Makey-Tile-Story-Teller/

Also, I’ve made the majority of these guides and projects- are there any here that could be interesting for assistive tech? https://makeymakey.com/pages/how-to
