    @

@larioc is our chapter leader in Englewood NJ based out of Dwight Englewood school.
Thought you could introduce yourself and give a bit of background on yourself /context in case anyone in your area finds themselves on the forum looking for a connection!

If anyone in the NJ area wants to introduce themselves feel free to “reply to this thread” and say hi!

    * Who are you and where are you based out of?
    * What do you do, and what are your passions and areas of interest in assistive tech (and otherwise?)
    * What are you hoping to get out of the experience of being an MMC Leader or member?
    * What are you interested to know about other Chapter Leaders and members?

If you want to start your own thread that is relevant to the Syracuse area, start a new thread by clicking on Purple square that says “US Chapters” and then click “New Topic” on the right hand side. Add NJ in the title and tags as well as some words that indicate the post topic.

If you want to talk about devices or other topics, they might fit better under an existing category in the forum so check out your options! We can help by stepping in to move threads is necessary.

Here is a video that can you you understand how to use the forum!
If you are reading this and you aren’t signed up for the forum/website yet, these videos will also be helpful to get you started!

@Professor.Zia thought I would tag you here to introduce yourself since you are sort of part of both chapters in a way! (Working in NY but living in NJ!)

Thank you @ZKv. I will be happy to assist in organizing the NJ Chapter. I believe NY co-chapter leaders @emaker and @loretod (@loretodalt) are also interested in collaboration between NY and NJ chapters.

Hello, my name is Josh I’m also in New Jersey (Jackson) and just signed up to make my first device.

By day, I’m a Sr Systems Engineer at a networking equipment company, and by night I’m a 3d printing enthusiast and have been printing since 2017. I have 4 FDM-type printers and two mSLA-type printers.

I’m am also a father of 3, including one very special 9-year-old with ED type 2 muscular dystrophy. I’ve printed lots of adaptive devices over the past few years for my son, and am trying to improve my CAD/design skills so I can design as well as print.

I hope, by being a MMC member, I can help people in need and find inspirations in designing new devices.

I’m curious to know how often members get requests for devices and what are the usual struggles with fulfilling them? In my look through the active requests I’ve seen several where the requester doesn’t respond after the original request, is that common?

Thanks and I look forward to helping!
