It works by pushing a wheelchair with a lever instead of by the push rims.

This is a hand-drive attachment for a manual wheelchair that enables the user to power their wheelchair using a lever. The design was created by Nathaniel Tong and Kate Reed. The design is open source and comprised of 3D printed parts and off-the-shelf hardware.
The design uses a ratchet mechanism that allows the wheel to move freely or be driven. The hand brake can be activated to move the wheel in the opposite direction.
This design is not an appropriate fit for inclusion into the MMC Library, but it will be kept here for informational purposes.
