Description of Idea:
I’m an individual with an Acquired Brain Injury & due to hand shakes I can’t open things like Pasta jars, jam or salsa jars. Now that I’m moving into my own apartment in October, I was wondering if you could help me overcome this ?MMC Entry I.D: 6931
October 6, 2021 at 1:38 am #12214@cfraser16, You share a challenge with thousands and I’d be happy to give a hand. As a favor could you please look thorugh this list to see if there would be something off-the-shelf that could do for you?
(you may have to change language. What you are describing is within the ISO code 24.06.03)
Thanks for your help
October 6, 2021 at 1:45 am #12221The jar key listed above works well for breaking the seal. It requires minimal effort to use. After it is open, I would suggest using a piece of shelf liner or a rubber jar opener over the lid to assist with twisting off.
October 6, 2021 at 1:48 am #122273253Nice info @atrc. For people coming here to find a jar key, it would be great if you could specify which one you are referring to and what kind of people it will work best for? Apparently @cfraser16 is not following the discussion anymore. Is that so?
October 6, 2021 at 1:50 am #12231his is the device I was thinking of and have experience with. I couldn’t find one on this site. It would be great for those with fine motor impairments of varying types such as arthritis, lack of strength, paralysis, tremors, etc.
