    Hi Zee!

My name is Barnabas Helmy and I’m a maker and entrepreneur based out of Rochester, Illinois – just outside of Springfield (you know, Lincoln).

I am very passionate about bringing ideas to life and the tools that make this possible. 3D printing, soldering and all sorts of fabrication methods interest me.

As a chapter leader, I hope to assist in the development of new products to benefit others. I work closely with the Illinois Assistive Technology Program and I’m currently designing products for their clients.

I was introduced to the assistive technology world through a product I created called PUCK, a wireless bluetooth to infrared controller. After learning that it had been used as adaptive technology, I’ve focused more on making products accessible for everyone, and I’m launching PUCKmed specifically for the AT market.

I hope to meet other makers in this community and continue to create products that benefit as many folks as possible.

    Cheers!

    Barnabas

    Welcome!
Wondering who else is in the IATP in your area? We could use their ideas and input on some projects and devices if they’re willing to join the forum and take a look. It’ll give them a sense of what we are up to and hopefully stimulate some ideas on projects and events collaborations!

    Hi folks,

I’d just like to update our Illinois Chapter and point people towards the IATP’s project, the ICAT program, at make.iltech.org.

    Barnabas
