    Description:
I would love to be able to listen to music independently and activate my bluetooth headphones. When I am not in my wheelchair, I do not have access to my laptop/phone to place music independently. If there was a way to adapt bluetooth headphones so I could play/stop the music with a lightweight switch or with my voice (through Google?), that would be amazing.

It’s probably possible, albeit difficult, to solder on an external switch to the controls of some Bluetooth headphones, but adding wires to a wireless product is going to affect convenience and reliability. Have you considered a separate wireless controller in conjunction with your existing headphones? Something like this sounds like it might do what you want: https://www.chubbybuttons.io/
