@gravescolleen, Colleen, thank you very much. the information you shared was very helpful. I did remapping, and have enough keys now. I am thinking to put braille on the representation of keys and maybe compare the answers from users and MM…. More to go. November 12, 2020 at 10:05 pm #10569This is the most beautiful case @brentcourson : https://twitter.com/kitkat_marshall/status/1031605876547887104
I’ve tried reaching out to Kit Kat Marshall about her design because we’d love to be able to sell it as a company.
November 12, 2020 at 10:05 pm #10570Here is the Scratch project for the calculator I made. It was really pretty difficult, but this code should work for your project idea. You can’t do decimals, but you can make large numbers to add , subtract or multiply and all using Makey Makey: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/334824249/
November 12, 2020 at 10:05 pm #10571@gravescolleen, thanks. I like the display of the equation in Sprite. I may need you to help with that. Thanks.
I created the Scratch, decimals work fine, here is the video: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1GR6L81Sq80kEm7TC0yYtpWoAeI4xhxOX/view?usp=sharing
The Scratch I made is pretty complicated too: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/471843141November 12, 2020 at 10:05 pm #10572**Idea 1:** Project for student who is blind autistic limited communication. Use Makey Makey like an AAC
**Challenge**: Needs help with box-Brent is helping
**Idea 2:** Other project is a Calculator, adding braille, to make braille calculator, need to make it bigger .Need to hide everything underneath? Makerslba at CMU used overlay-hole punch so there’s enough copper is exposed
Big calculator [Colleen Graves on Twitter: “Cardboard @makeymakey hopscotch calculator in action! Coded in @scratch ! #makered https://t.co/qQwQ2VMhXW” / Twitter](https://twitter.com/gravescolleen/status/1182759849232338944?s=20)
Similar but bigger. Tape used for each number, but use braille? Wire pokes up through bottom of cardboard.
Try adhesive back Braille stickers? Try putting stick near bottom, ½-½ inch on either side so they have a better chance of touching copper as wellColleen going to try using hole punch, similar to music note-recess hole vs bump for braille. Maybe use tacks to poke out
[Interactive Braille Cell 1.0 With Makey Makey : 4 Steps – Instructables](https://www.instructables.com/Interactive-Braille-Cell-10/)**Challenge:** Not able to get it to be conductive with hands with lotion. Waiting on [Anti Static wristband](https://www.amazon.ca/iFixit-Anti-static-Wrist-Strap-Adjustable/dp/B00B2T9C8Y/ref=asc_df_B00B2T9C8Y/?tag=googleshopc0c-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=335573973312&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=5091048578330811280&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9001542&hvtargid=pla-611776013466&psc=1)
Maintain other hand on target must keep hand on while using other hand to read braille.
**Challenge**: Scratch-Cannot reset calculator unless move cursor on computer screen
Not ideal for someone who is blind

November 12, 2020 at 10:05 pm #10573@gravescolleen those cases do look classy! It makes sense to laser cut the cases. I came across a 3D printed version with similar dimensions: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4543568
November 12, 2020 at 10:05 pm #10574@ZKv Zee, thank you so much for taking notes. @gravescolleen, Colleen helped me during her office hour today,
Resetting the calculator is working now. I am going to buy some brass fasteners to work with braille, tomorrow I am meeting @brentcourson, Brent’s team. This is incredible teamwork. Thank you, everyone.November 12, 2020 at 10:05 pm #10575Thanks, Brent. We can chat tomorrow.
November 12, 2020 at 10:05 pm #10576Update the final version of the calculator made by Brent @brentcourson and the volunteer team of May We Help in Ann Arbor. Thank you, Brent, and the team.
