Nelson’s Story

“My wife, Shawna, is quadriplegic. I got her a LipSync two years ago, shortly after her accident. She has been tremendously helped by it, and she can phone various people. It’s been pretty good, until she went into lockdown at the care home she’s at – and then it quit. I was able to get a hold of another one from you.

“We phone each other each night. Plus, she’s able to phone other people she knows, so she’s not as isolated. My wife says Thank you, Thank you, Thank you. So do I. I really appreciate your efforts – you help a lot of different people in a lot of different ways.”

3D Printed PPE: Chapter Leaders Fight COVID-19

Over the past month, we’ve seen makers all over the world step up to create 3D printed PPE equipment. Many of our Makers Making Change Chapter Leaders have been involved with these efforts at through their own companies, makerspaces and community groups outside of Makers Making Change.

We wanted to give a shout-out to all our Chapter Leaders! Read more about the work they are doing on our blog.

#GivingTuesdayNow is a global day of giving and unity that is taking place on May 5, 2020 as an emergency response to the unprecedented need caused by COVID-19.

You can support our work in several ways. You can make a donationvolunteer as a maker, or share your PPE design prototypes on our Forum.
