Device Details

This was designed for a user who tends to push/throw the Tech Talk AAC device during use. The team supporting this individual was looking for a means to secure the device for use at a desk and wheelchair tray, so it needed to be sturdy, but repositionable. The unit was constructed out of pine.

The communication device is placed into the base unit. The top is then closed and secured with a padlock. The front edge is held in with a small riser that is secured with a button head hex screw and nut. D-buckles were installed on each corner of the base and secured to various work surfaces with Better Than Bungee Rope Lock Tie Downs. This allowed for use of the base on a variety of work surfaces.

Drawings were created in Autodesk Fusion 360.
